Graphic Design, Type Design, Branding

CASCA is a Brazilian cosmetic brand inspired by nature, craft and local culture. The design challenge was to bring a distinctly Brazilian identity to the point of sale through handcrafted techniques, Brazilian colours and organic details.

I led the creative development of Casca, shaping the brand from its naming and positioning to its visual identity and packaging system. Rooted in the Portuguese word for skin or peel, Casca refers to the natural layer that surrounds, protects and preserves what lies within. This simple idea became the conceptual thread running through the entire identity: A visual language inspired by nature and tactility.

For the packaging system, I developed a collection of organic textures for the brand’s different SKUs, creating a cohesive visual language while giving each product its own distinctive expression. The textures were created by hand using oil pastels. Each piece was then scanned and digitally refined, preserving the nuances of the original gesture and bringing a sense of materiality to the packaging.

The visual system is grounded in greens and yellows, echoing the Brazilian landscape and cultural palette without relying on literal references. The result is a vibrant yet tactile identity, where natural textures, color, and form come together to express the essence of the brand.
